AMBERWOODS PHILOSOPHY

I’m Shelley Gollop and have been practicing my Beauty and Complimentary Therapies since 1992.

I trained in my home town of Bournemouth in 1990 completing a two year City & Guilds course in Beauty Therapy.

My first job took me to Ragdale Hall Health Hydro in Leicestershire where I was introduced to a large variety of Beauty and Natural Therapies to include top skin care brands as well as Holistic therapies.

This all enabled me to gain a lot of experience and my thirst for knowledge with the Holistic Therapies I practise today.

I relocated back to Bournemouth in 1995 where I spent six years in a beauty clinic in Ringwood. Here I gained my ITEC qualifications in Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Sports Massage, along with the study of diet and nutrition.

I had the opportunity to become self employed in 2001 working at Fitness First in Poole where I also received my qualifications in Reiki. After which, this naturally then led to having a joint directorship in my own Hair and Beauty Business until 2011.

I went back to being self employed working in Lower Parkstone still continuing with my therapies also having received qualifications for Advanced Electroysis/Red Vein/Milia removal as well as Hot Stone Massage.

In 2017 my calling found me working for the Wessex Cancer support in Bournemouth. We work with those that are in all stages of their cancer journey. My Holistic Therapies, Reflexology, Reiki and Aromatherapy Massage are invaluable in giving support to those going through this.

I currently divide my time now between working from home in my lovely, quiet, purpose built treatment space in my garden and a few days at The Wessex Cancer Support Centre in Bournemouth.

I also completed my Oncology Massage Certificate in July 2023.

I still continue to love my job and are very grateful for the journey my career has taken me on. I always knew I wanted to help others and couldn’t be happier with the way my career has unfolded and allowed this to happen….
